Iconic Maine

Since moving to Maine, I have been exploring the seacoast with my camera in hand,! along with my trusty Portuguese Waterdogs, Fenway and Camden. From Portland Light to the wind swept Schoodic Peninsula, we will be setting out to create stunning images that best captures the essence of Coastal Maine. A light house perched on a rocky cliff, secluded harbors dotted with fishing boats, and a roadside dinner that has been serving up the finest lobster rolls for years, symbolize what Maine is all about. Follow our adventure as we hit the road. You won’t believe what we’re about to unearth.

"Hot Rods, Bentley's Saloon"

Hot Rods, Bentley’s Saloon epitomizes “small town Maine”. Every Tuesday night in the summer, hot rods and motorcycles converge on Bentley’s Saloon, in the coastal town of Arundel, Maine. Vintage cars that have been chopped, flame painted, channeled, slammed and even Z’ed, are transformed into dazzling works of art. Many of the mechanics and car aficionados are true Michelangelo’s in their own right. What these characters most enjoy is just hanging out, shooting the breeze with one another, and enjoying “a cold one or two”. Its Tuesday night lights in Arundel, Maine.

Lobster man’s shack, Cape Neddick, Maine, depicts a thrown together structure which has been colorfully adorned with hand painted lobster buoys. When not at sea! on a cold and blustery winters day, smoke bellowing from the chimney reminds us of the solitary life of a lobster man.

"Monhegan Island Light"

Monhegan Island Light sits atop the highest point of this sparsely populated island, located 12 miles off the coast of Booth Bay Harbor, Maine. Built in 1850, the lighthouse and fog bell have been warning sailors of the dangers that surround this island for many years. The granite structure which houses an automated light and lens remains a beacon to this day for sailors navigating through the tricky waters of Penobscot Bay.
